Stratum · Pro File Manager

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

The short version: Stratum collects nothing. There are no analytics, no ads, no crash reporting, and no developer-operated servers. Your files, credentials, and settings never leave your device except when you send them to a server you configured.

Who this policy covers

Stratum: Pro File Manager (“Stratum,” “we,” “the app”) is developed by PortableCreator. This policy explains what data the app accesses on your device and how it is handled.

What Stratum accesses

What Stratum does not do

The encrypted Vault

Files you choose to import into Stratum's Vault feature are encrypted on-device with AES-256-GCM, using a hardware-backed key in the Android Keystore, unlocked with your device's biometric or PIN authentication.

Vault files are never decrypted to shared storage — a temporary copy is created only in memory when you open a file, and it is wiped immediately after use.

Permissions

Permission Why Stratum needs it
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
(All Files Access)
Required for Stratum's core function — browsing and managing files anywhere on your device's storage, not just app-specific folders.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
(Notifications)
Used only to show progress for copy/move/extract operations. Optional.
QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES
(Installed apps list)
Used only for the Apps screen and APK backup feature.
INTERNET / network state Used only to connect to network servers you configure yourself (SMB/SFTP/FTP), and for the local HTTP proxy that streams network media to players on your own device.

Data retention

All app data (settings, saved network connections, Vault contents) is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all of it. We do not operate any server that stores your data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
